Creative Thinking in The Workplace

CREATIVE THINKING IN THE WORKPLACE

I can finally reveal our brand new Mapology Guide. A mammoth topic indeed.

Creative thinking at the Workplace

Whether you're a business, a freelancer, or just a curious human, today's competitive business landscape relies heavily on creativity and innovation.
How do do you stand out from the crowd? How do you innvoate? How does innovation come about? We know it's become a trendy buzzword. But not everything can be considered innovation.

Innovation is applied creativity, where a spark of an idea is turned into a novel solution. So what is creativity and do you believe you are creative? The road to innovation is not an easy one, but with the right components and in the right sequence - like the innovation engine on our map - results can be amazing.
True innovation involves risk-taking and out-of-the-box thinking. Big businesses have the funds and resources to employ creative agencies that come up with innovative products and services. Small businesses or companies of one (like myself) don't have that luxury. So we need to think for ourselves. And that's a good thing. Why? Because creative thinking will stand you in good stead.

Although this Mapology Guide is directed at businesses and their employees, freelancers or anyone who is curious about this subject - learning about how to be creative and understanding true innovation can have a very positive impact on your own personal journey. Remember, it's not always the destination and the outcome.

And there's the threat of AI fast approaching. Which jobs do you think it will replace first?

Creative thinking in the Workplace

As always, my big thanks go to my team. Gus Scott, illustrator extraordinaire, who understood the brief perfectly and expertly and came up with a Wallace & Gromit like machine.

Sophie Greenwood, the creative incubator maven, was my choice to help with the writing. She knows a thing or two about creativity. If you need to make sense of your business and your ideas for it, she is your woman. On maternity leave until July 2025, you can sign up to her waiting list.
