PERSONAL MEMORY BOX DAY WORKSHOP 2

This is my second personal memory box day workshop with Pippa Ryan. Some of you might have read my blog post on the first workshop and how much I loved it.

After the first workshop I knew I wanted to do another one - but needed to find a meaningful collection. It didn't take long for me to have the idea of dusting off some jewellery I had hand-made in the early 90's and never worn. You see, the jewellery was in a box for all this time. Surely, it's nicer to have a framed memory box of my endeavours hanging on the wall.

You might find it strange I never wore the jewellery I made. I would. I did the jewellery course to learn patience after my nervous breakdown. It was a perfect vehicle for it. However, I did not fall in love with jewellery making and actually I didn't like wearing silver and gold jewellery. Even, today, over 30+ years later, I don't wear much jewellery - and if, then it's more friendship bracelets or costume jewellery.

Once I decided on the collection, I booked onto the course. Although it was a much smaller collection than the stationery one I had done, it was equally complex and required Pippa's help. I wasn't sure what background cloth colour to choose so that became a bit of a saga. I actually bought numerous samples of different colours, but in the end used the cream background I had used for the stationery collection.

Next was getting my jewellery polished. The day of the course was amazing. I met a handful of wonderfully creative souls with their precious meaningful collections. Everyone was so supportive and I loved their end result.

Pippa Ryan is running more workshops before the end of the year. There might be a couple of slots left. Best to check.

If I can think of a third collection I would do another workshop in 2025. You could say I'm a little hooked.
