New Year. New Hope.
The New Year used to evoke excitement, new beginnings, new hope.
Life is tough and can be brutal! The world has changed dramatically in the past few years. We've had Brexit, the pandemic, wars, controversial elections, talk of nuclear weapons, the cost of living crisis, and so much more.
Now we add the horrendous wildfires in LA, and this at the very beginning of 2025.
This can get on top of anyone, even the most resilient. I do count myself as quite resilient. But throw in winter, it getting dark early, freezing temperatures and it being January, I’m feeling it too.
There’s so much distrust in the world. More and more people are feeling emotionally dysregulated and disconnected from themselves.
I’m rather good at talking about feelings. I’ve had long-term therapy. What’s needed is for everyone to talk more, to express themselves, to not hold things in, but voice them with trusted people.
This time of year can be challenging for so many reasons. We all need some support, to be listened to and to feel understood. It might be a good time to seek some therapy.
I know the world feels cold right now. There’s so much despair everywhere and a lack of hope. But HOPE is everything, a bit like LOVE is everything. You know, love is not only found in romantic relationships. Love is everywhere and I believe that hope is everywhere too.
Hope can be found in the smallest hours, in a conversation with a stranger, in a passage of a book, and definitely in a Mapology Guide. It can be found in a flower that grows amongst concrete or in a sentence from a movie. You just need to believe! And I always believe. Do you believe? Here are some simple life lessons.
That’s why we published our How to Choose a Brighter Tomorrow Mapology Guide. A map full of hope, showing you that you have a choice. We can either be dragged down by life's circumstances or we can march forward, step by step, and live our best life.
